Hannukah Event in DC – this Wednesday!

Please join members of the Jewish community for a Hannukah celebration in conjunction with the Fast for Families campaign in Washington, DC.

Date: Wednesday, December 4, 2013

Time: 5:00-6:30 pm

Location: National Mall in Washington, DC at the Fast for Families Community Tent (3rd and Jefferson, SW)

We will light the menorah and honor individuals participating in the campaign, including community leaders like Rabbi Steve Gutow, President of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), as he begins a 24-hour solidarity fast.

fastSince the fast for families campaign began on November 12th, it has garnered national and international attention. This weekend, President and First Lady Obama visited the tent in person, where they brought a message of support for the fast and for reforming our broken immigration system. The tent has also been visited by Vice President Biden, member of Congress, Cabinet secretaries, community and religious leaders, and countless Americans eager to see immigration reform passed this year.
