Jewish Organizations Respond to GOP Immigration Principles

Following the unveiling of the much-anticipated Republican immigration principles, several prominent Jewish organizations have issued responses:

HIAS applauded the GOP’s plan to address the issue and legalize the unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S., but expressed concern that the principles did not address a pathway to citizenship.

AJC took a similar approach, also voicing concerns about the lack of a family immigration visa system and praising the principles that dealt with legalizing immigrant children and updating worker visas.

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) offered its assessment of the newly-released principles and urged both the House and Senate to come together in a bipartisan effort for comprehensive immigration reform.
