Many of us are deeply troubled by the news reports coming out of Europe about the influx of Syrian refugees seeking safety and protection. HIAS is undertaking a major advocacy effort to mobilize American Jews in urging the U.S. government to invest more resources in addressing the root causes of the conflict, dramatically increase refugee admissions numbers, and provide more humanitarian aid to the region. Below is a roundup of statements and editorials released by Jewish organizations:
- HIAS Op-Ed: Migrants Aren’t Widgets
- ADL Deeply Concerned by Escalating Migrant Crisis in Europe
- JCPA Statement on the Refugee Crisis in Europe
- HIAS Op-Ed: For Refugees, Crisis Never Far Away
